FRC Robotics Mechanical Lead & Pit Crew Captain
MECHANICAL FABRICATION LEAD
I have been involved in FIRST robotics programs for eight years. Now, as the mechanical fabrication lead of Menchville High School’s FIRST Robotics Competition team, Triple Helix, I am responsible for the mechanical design and building of our robots, training mechanical sub-team members on using machine shop tools. Our mechanical subteam uses machine shop tools - mill, lathe, drill press, mitre saw, band saw, hand drills, etc - to construct industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game in an alliance with other teams.
PIT CREW CAPTAIN
As my FRC team’s pit crew captain, I am responsible for debugging mechanical and non-mechanical problems under pressure as captain of the pit crew during competitions.

2020 ROBOT (11th Grade)
The coronavirus pandemic cut our competition season short, so we were only able to compete at one event, but we were definitely off to a winning season as we were the 2nd place finalist and won the Engineering Inspiration Award. The Engineering Inspiration Award celebrates a team’s outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school or organization and community.
